I discovered that every time I go through the car wash I get the rear camera malfunction warning. It goes away after the car sits in the sun. Obviously water causing a connectivity problem. Need to find area to seal leak.

Depends on whether you have CCC or CIC. CCC camera has module built-in, and usually it goes bad. For CIC, the module is separate (under the dash) and you need to replace the HSD cable ($200+) i.e. take apart quite a few trim parts all the way to the tailgate.

Do you know what the dealer time is on the cable replacement? CIC for me, gives me a better idea if I can personally do it.

Dunno. I diy'd it, took half a day altogether. Btw, you can save time and route the cable on the driver side (as oppose to 'factory' pass.side).
