Just picked up a 2008 X5, need help with summer wheels

I have been lurking for a few weeks now as I was making a decision about an X5. I am very happy with the purchase and have made some simple modifications already.

I am considering having 2 sets of wheels. One for winters/ski season and one for the sunny summers. My X5 did not have the sport option so it came with the stock 18" wheels. I painted those already and have new tires from the dealership (all season run flats).

My plan is to swap those all seasons on the 18s next winter for some winter tires. My question is about what to do for the summer. I am considering 20" wheels (perhaps OEMs) but I'm skittish given some of the feedback I've read about ride quality. I realize this is a natural tradeoff but comfort is important to me. I think 20" will look better in general but I have a 11 month old so it's not like I am pushing this truck day to day. I have considered 20" with non run flats as a compromise to gain back some of that comfort.

I know wheel size and ride comfort vs performance can be polarizing, but I am genuinely interested in thoughts on this specific scenario. 20" wheels in the summer on non run flats and balance of ride quality and comfort.

THANKS!

No opinions? I'm surprised.

20" on runflats is fine on the highway, but very unpleasant around town when the road isn't perfect. Taking corners at 3x the recommended speed is a hoot, but I rarely get the chance to do that. If the car didn't come with 20" I'm not sure I would have bought them. Also, driving on anything more than light gravel and you start to worry about the rims, not the vehicle.

I have to get new summer tires when spring rolls around. I'm considering the Continental DW non-runflats. The only thing to worry about is our great April/November snowstorms when I haven't switched tires yet.

Garage List
Get style 214's with non RFT's and call it a day. I run these with Conti ExtremeContact DWS06's and they are outstanding. The 35 series sidewall is more than sufficient. Start going to 21's or 22's and I think that's where you'll need to start puckering up over potholes/bumps in the road due to their 30 series rubberband sidewall.
