RRRR!!!!
This is NOT a Recall.
Its a customer care package from BMW USA linked to a Service Bulletin (SIB).
So other countries may not have it yet or may never get it.

I hope they roll it out everywhere.

So I'm guessing information is not synchronized across all the systems. From all my previous experience, a good tech and SA will get you the latest info.
As mentioned before, its not a recall, so wont show up on recall searches.

Your SA should of said its a service action, but they usually dont know much about these things so just call it a recall.

interesting...I live in Canada but have a US car under warranty. I wonder if they'll let me take the loaner to Toronto until the work is done?

Garage List
According to my BMW rep., "Your X6M is not applied to this recall." Apparently BMW uses better quality parts for their "///M" cars vs. non-"///M".

Just spoke to the dealership and set up an appointment for this thursday. The service rep said they would be looking at an issue with the timing chain? If it needs to be replaced, it would take up to a week.

I have my truck modified with a JB tune and downpipes (catted). I'm pretty worried that if they notice the tune, they may somehow blame it on that/void my warrantee. I did however get it serviced about a month ago at the dealership and they mentioned nothing about the tune, nor did voiding my warrantee ever come up.
