Fog Lights Out and Dash Instrument panel won't brighten
Hi:
I drive a 2012 X5 5.0. I went for a drive last night and noticed that the dash instrument panel was very dim. I rolled the dimmer/brighten knob that changes the dash light intensity but it had zero impact--either brighter or down to black out. I then tried my fog lamp switch and noticed this was dead as well. I've looked for the appropriate fuse, but I'm not seeing any listings for the dash lights or fog lamps. Any suggestions? Thanks, |

Just spitballing here but I'd say the light switch panel itself, hopefully not the LKM.

All external lights and most of the internal lights are under the control of a module. It used to be the LM/LCM (in the old E series BMWs).
But with the new generation BMWs (e90/e60/e65/e70) OI believe the ext/int light functions are under the control of the FRM (footwell module) and possibly the JBE. You can easily find out by using the www.newtis.info website...just enter the last 7 digits of your VIN then type "fog lights" or something similar into the search box and you'll get a list of links that pertain to that subject. Good luck.
