Car delivery

Hey guys,

For those of you guys that got your car deliver already, do you remember how long it took from the status "production is complete and your car is awaitting to be realese to the carrier" to actually been able to pick it up.

My current car payment is due in the next few days, and I really dont want to pay it considering im trading it in, so trying to figure out how long i have till i have to pull the trigger on the payment.

Took a week from production completion to it arriving at the dealership for me. The arrival depends on how far you are from Spartanburg and how soon the dealership scheduled a delivery.

As for the payment, it will go towards the (assuming) positive equity, so your monthly payments will be lower when you go pick it up and the financing guy does the math. If you don't want to pay it because you can't afford it then... well... terrible choice of a new car.

It took 4 weeks from ordering the vehicle to taking delivery. It depends on your location and whether the dealer has any allocations.

What time of year and how close to model change was it? If you don't mind me asking.

jero20 - isn't there a grace period on the payment? (meaning you might be able to squeeze out a couple more days from BMW)

It was around August 11. My CA told me that it will take the same time like last year to order a 2013 model.

As a reference point my vehicle was ordered under an "expedited dealer allocation" (whatever that means!) on June 11th, 2013. Vehicle went into production yesterday June 19th and today the system was indicating production would be finished July 25th!!!!

Will let you all know as things change!

Are you talking about the 1800 number? It told me that my vehicle was complete and waiting for transport last week, but the website still has me @ "Vehicle in Production." Order@ the end of April. The 1800 # also called out some dates that have since come and gone, so I don't trust those either.

800 number the automated system, confirmed by rep. She thought it might be because they are checking the Powers Steering on all X5 and X6 currently in production for the steering issue but she was not totally sure!
