DIY: E70 Phone Cradle Removal

So I didn't see a DIY for E70 Phone Cradle removal. This cradle is in the center console and takes up a lot of space, not to mention it is super outdated. This is a very straight forward removal.

Tools Needed:
Plastic Pry Tool
T20
T25

Step 1: Remove T20 bolt under glove box on passenger side footwell

Step 2: Use pry tool to give you enough space on the lower carpet to get a finger or two behind and slide carpet towards front of vehicle. You will see 2 retaining clips that hold it to the center console

Step 3: Move passenger sit forward, go to back seat and push rear carpet forward. Revealing 4 retaining clips.

Step 4: Open center console, Unclip the phone cradle reveals (2) T25 screws underneath

Step 5: On passenger side center console, you will see the electrical harness, remove 3 cables and snake harness out of the center console

Step 6: Remove phone cradle

Step 7: Insert blocking plate (PN#51169115083) - this part is stupid expense (~$70). I think someone on FBM is doing a 3D print for $30, doesn't look nearly as good as OEM. So as of now, mine is just open and I will look for a parts car.

There was a time that the blocking plate was uber cheap, OEM for under $30... Not anymore. :-(

Do you think you could edit your photos to circle/highlight the areas where screws are removed or point to an area of focus from your steps?

It is just 3 bolts. See picture #2, sorry it is a little blurry but there is a torx bolts by passenger footwell. And picture #5 is just showing 1 of the 2 larger torx bolts under the cradle itself.

I ripped mine out a couple of years ago but didn't take pics.

Do Not overestimate ppl's spelling!
You didn't find this because the title was too specific (iphone) and was for a "craddle" !
