Question Question about tire performance

Hey guys,
Im switching from 19" to 20" wheels but my concern is about how much the extra width of the tires will affect my first acceleration ? for sure it takes more effort to move those tires.....

Remember I'm going from 255-50-19's all around to 275-40-20's on the fronts and 315-35-20's on the rears, that's a lot of extra rubber touching the ground......

One interesting proposal I received from the tire dealer is to go 295-40-20's all around ? even with stagered wheels since that size will fit on 9.5" or 10.5" wheels, the only issue is that probably the rear ones could look a little "short" on those wide wheels

Well, hope someone here will be able to send me some comments
Bernie

Are you serious? If I were worried about acceleration I would not be drivign a 5,000lb truck.

Seriously though,1 inch wider won't matter much. In the end the weight of the rims and tires matter the most.

Well, those are the sizes on the X6M. If you are worried about acceleration, get the bigger tires you want, get a tune and upgrades and be happy

Well, my car is a 30d but I have upgraded the car with a chip that puts the car into the 300+ Hp and 600+ Nm, + K&N fileter, the issue here is that you can have 500Hp's under the hood, but a diesel start will always be slow until the turbo kicks in

I'm going for it anyway.....thanks

tire performance

Weight of the bigger tires & rims has higher unsprung weight so unless u've sport suspension upgrade, ride will be tight but u'll feel the road surface more as the wheels react it's just a waste.for just looks.
