2011 50i CIC failure
So recently during a cold day, my X started displaying an SOS warning on iDrive. I also do not have any stereo output.
I took the truck over to my indy to hook up to ISTA, and the CIC (I have also heard it called a champ module?) is not responding on the network at all. He took the time to try and reboot the module through the scan tool but it was no responsive. With the module being out, my fiber optic is down to, we pulled the connector under the passenger side and I do not have any light at all. I called BMW, got a price on a module and a part number. The price Reman for this module seems to be between $1100 to $1500. The part number for my truck seems to be 65129220076. My question is, my indy told me I HAVE to have just this part number and only it, is there any work around this, or am I tied to this number? I have found a lot of different selections of other CIC part numbers for X5, but only one for this part number on the used market. The used unit is also missing the face, is this something I can swap off the failed CIC? Is there anyone out there going through failed CIC and repairing them for a not hateful price? Thanks guys.

I have 0 sound that comes out of the stereo for anything at all. It was doing it intermittently over the summer, and I knew the failure was coming.
I pulled the CIC yesterday, got my actual part number, and have begun searching After some digging I found a few different part numbers through BMW that work Part numbers compatible with my truck, 65129278075 - OEM New part number 65129213180 - OEM New part number 65129251667 65129239227 65129263624 65129257201 65129222857 65129218357 - part number in the truck currently 65129273183 65129220076 - OEM Reman 65129220074 - OEM Reman For super safety I am going to purchase EXACTLY the part number in the truck currently.

The CIC module is not on the network. When hooking up ISTA, it shows a red block where it should be. We tried to reboot the module, but it was unresponsive, meaning it is not a power, ground, vref, or network issue, but rather, the module is down. My buddy told me order the module. It was suspected bad over the summer.
The part is already on order, I was curious if anyone had played the part number game before myself, as I am not buying new.

So the CIC module is now communicating on the network, but would not program, as the AMP, bluetooth, and antenna module are not showing on the network. I found a water leak in the back that took the amp out. I believe it back fed in the system and wiped the CIC out.
I am on the hunt for a Top HIFI amp, or looking through the technic website, something cheaper to replace the OEM stuff. Let me know if anyone has run into the amp failure, I am almost sure they have.

I found the culprit, there was a water leak in the back hatch that took out the HiFi DSP amp, witch I assume back fed into the CIC.
So this should be the last thing to deal with and everything should be back up and running

Picked up a used amp. Coded it to the truck, and now everything is back up to standard.
I thought I cured the water leak, but something is still going on in the back, I have something to keep water off the modules, but I am probably going to bring in a water leak guy and have the leak fixed that way
