Took Delivery of my 2011 X6M today

Sorry for the quality of the pics but all I has was my phone.
Will post some more when it has stopped raining and will also update with any differences I notice between the 2010 and 2011 models.

Welcome to the exclusive X6M club. The car looks great with full leather.

Be careful with the M transmission. If you are in the M/S mode, and start to shift with the paddles, the transmission will now stay in gear and will not shift at redline. It can take some getting used to.

As much as I have heard, it seems the only difference would be the side view camera addition on the front bumper. This is apparently not available for production until later. I also know they do not get the 8 speed transmission, while the two other X6 models do.

Any other differences?

Not many differences.

Okay!

So far the differences I've noticed between the 2010 and 2011 are diethyl squat if any. Here in Canada we are very limited to our selections of options. For example we only have the choice of exterior colours, interior colours with only the aluminum shadow or black carbon leather trims, only the M sport seats, the standard package options or the executive package that has every option except the rear dvd player which by the way is always in the way of your elbows or the middle compartment as it folds over it (which ever square head thought of that tuck and stow feature should be demoted to sweeping the floor). I've had both the 10 and 11 fully loaded so can not comment between different options.

Couple things I did notice (please correct me if I'm wrong but never noticed it in the 10) was in the idrive you are able to choose between the contact list to be viewed with either first name first or last name first (who remembers everybody's last name anyways!). As well the usb/ipod cable finally charges the 3GS iPhone just in time as the 4G iPhone will be released in a couple of months and we will have to hope that both companies have collaborated for this one.

That being said I have already placed 1100k on it with just over a week and have loved every second for the second time around.

Just getting a sweet tint on tomorrow. Also on route to be here in a couple of days are the clear side markers and white halos. Once completed will post more pics.

If any of you have any other cool ideas to mod the M beast please advise away.

Out,

SPDFRK

White looks great and much more subtle. I have the Melbourne Red and while it turns heads it sticks out like a rocket on the road. LANDLORD is right about the willingness of the car to blow past the red line while in 'M' mode on paddles. The Hud - which automatically superimposes the tach (variable tach at that) makes it easy to monitor though.
The manual is clear about not going near the red line during break in but oddly, my dealer said don't worry about it. I tend to trust the manual but sometimes you just can't resist.
Enjoy it in good health!

Congrats on your beast, it looks great. Is that the sakhir or cinnamon interior?

Congrats. I also had gotten my X5M recently. See my thread at http://www.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=381456

Can you let me know if your headlight has the LED based angel eye rings or the 2010 style?
