Mod bug stung. Need some help on what I can do

Picked up a used x5 for the wife as a daily. I got a full bolt one tuned e85 335 and a supercharged track built m3. I said I would leave the x5 stock. ..... I lied. It's a 2008 x5 3.0 black on black. I could be wrong but it doesn't look like it's got aero/ m tech package. No fender flares. I wants to add those, black double spoke grills, going to upgrade the headlights. But what can I do to the front and rear bumper and sides also were can I add the running board. Any direct fit lci lights?

Welcome. I totally understand. I got my X5M and promised my wife I would leave it stock...... It was flashed within two weeks.


If the 2008 has the angel eyes, I would swap out the dim halogen bulb for some bright LED's. They made a huge difference. Next I'd get rid of the yellow reflectors on the fenders. Obviously wheels and fender flares can make a HUGE difference but that is an expensive option. So that the tires can be rotated, I go with a square setup (I.e. Front and rear the same size, but run either lower offset or spacers in the rear to fill fender flares and give staggered look.

Unfortunately for power there isn't too much you can do. If the engine in the 3.0 is the same M54 that was in all the other 30 series cars, you're out of luck. Only hope for power is a supercharger.

Forget performance upgrades. That engine was a bit of a dog, especially coupled with the auto transmission.

Slap on the fenders flares to start, and then you can always put on M Sport bumpers if you fancy. Don't waste your money on LED angel eyes. They will make your inner angel eyes very bright and completely wash out the outer ones.

Thank you guys for the suggestions. I don't care for the engine mods. I already have 2 cars making over 550whp. This is the wife/ family daily. I use it sometimes to get groceries and wouldn't mind making it look good. I will start with the fender flares and wheels and spacers in the back. I Still cannot tell the difference between stock bumper and one with AERO kit. so I'm debating that. What does the M sport bumper look like thats compatible with this model?
