New power tailgate lift cylinder. Edited, Video!
Hi Guys,
I bought a pair of new automatic lift cylinder for my x5 and it just open like a foot. I have to open it manually all the way to the top, then it will close normally with the button. I tried all options on the iDrive, but nothing. Is there any software option that needs to be reset in order to let the computer know there are a new struts installed? Here are the part# 8 http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-51247332...eff506&vxp=mtr

bump. Same issue. My X5 is still under warranty so if no one posts a response, I will give everyone an update.

If no codes are being thrown use Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner (concentrate). It solves rpm fluctuating upon cold start-up. Also, for most BMW problems start off by scanning your car with the Peake Research Tool. It contains the actual BMW codes. If you want to register a newly installed battery for free (just buy a $10 cable) and google/download BMWLogger

Hatch / Liftgate not closing
Mine opens fine but, when I press the close button it "acts" like it wants to close and will not. Any thoughts?
