I've been running stage 3 for a couple of days now (still adapting).
Shifting appears smoother, with less of the factory clumsy feel, but under moderate throttle, I feel like it's still racing to 6th.
Definitely an improvement, and something long overdue - certainly makes it more enjoyable to drive (especially for the more "spirited" drivers).

Good to hear. Can you answer my question from above? Is M Mode still automatic? Or do you have to manually shift?

From memory, it was still auto in M mode.

Not convinced it's a great investment yet.
On WOT testing today, it was quite slow to shift at redline, keeping rpm close to limit for too long. Not sure if it's having trouble adapting because of the JB4.

Might do some video runs next week and compare shift times to those in my sig.

Have you guys written xHP about this issue? I've written them via PM about vehicles that are modded (JB4, flash tune, etc) which will have affects on shift points is being proven here. $300+ is a lot to sirens to exchange one issue for another.

So I've had a chance to run the car with the xHP flash over the past few days and I'm not totally disappointed. But I'm not totally blown away either. In S mode the paddles definitely shifts gears almost instantly but the same complaint that a lot of other people have of it wanting to bog down when in D is still there (6th gear when cruising at about 45mph is not ideal for me). I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the tune I'm running and if it affects the TCU in anyway but I'm tempted to flash everything back to stock and then re-install just the xHP flash and see if it makes a different. I personally have had no issues with rpm's hanging at redline.

Looks like issues have been fixed!

File update for X5 M/X6 M!

On some ECU-Revisions, the S-Mode in Stage 3 touched the RPM Soft-Limiter before initiating the shift. This was due to different gear dependent RPM limits in the various ECU flashes. Thats now fixed.

Also the D-Mode shiftpoints (Stage 2 + Stage 3) on middle loads where pulled down, due to customer feedback.

...but is it worth the $500ish asking price? I'm kicking myself in the butt that I didn't respond soon enough while they were in beta and I despise the ///M tax.

Can you elaborate on this? To me, "pulled down" means it shifts sooner. Do you mean it holds gears longer before shifting?

Has it been determined yet if this flash affects engine tunes or vice versa?

I thought there were no backend flashes available for our JB4's with the S63 engine?

BEF writes directly to the DME, which is independent to the JB4. There's various BEF options available for the S63 DME (eg Velos or ESS) also known as "a tune". The BMS Juicebox hijacks the signal from various factory sensors and tricks the DME into performing standard adaptive tasks, like increasing timing/fuel or holding wastegates closed longer, and can be run in conjunction with a DME BEF in most cases.

TCU is a completely different computer to the DME, so not affected by xHP flash.

Thanks Protecon for the info. I was thinking of MHD or *********** that work directly with the JB4. These options are not available for our S63.
Do you think that the xHP upgrade is worth it?
Did you disconnect the JB4 completely on installation or just load map 0?

As you noted, MHD doesn't have an anything for the S63.

As Protecon noted, the xHP has nothing to with the engines ECU, so why would he need to change maps at all to change transmission TCU software? Once again, they're two different computers.

In the instructions it recommends disconnecting the JB4 before flashing the TCU.
I believe because they are both( JB4 and TCU) connected to the CAN system and that the JB4 still interferes with the flashing.
I was just wondering if anybody has flashed the trans tune with the JB4 connected with success.

For anyone interested. Just confirmed. Flashed TCU with JB4 connected and on map 0 without any problem.
