Best Options for X5 Diesel?
Hi All,
I'm considering trading in my e90 335 with x-drive for an X5 Diesel. I just need a bit more space and I'm currently averaging 14mpg which is awful... At any rate, what are the must have options on the X5? I'm thinking: Premium Package Cold Weather Package Tech Package Rear Climate Control Package? I like the contour seats. Is the sports package a must have? I don't really understand what else you get besides bigger wheels, different steering wheel and the nicer seats. Is the suspension different? Better? Worse? Just curious what you all think I should be looking for in a used X5 35D Thanks!

Is the sports activity package worth it? Is the ride significantly rougher with the bigger wheels and run flats?
Does the suspension change on the sports package? Thanks,

Be interesting to see what you avg in the diesel. I get 19.7. I have the
20's, would say no to this if you drive allot. The Dunlop do not have a long life from many post as well as being very expensive |

I haven't figured it out for awhile since my wife mostly drives the diesel but it was around 24-26mpg with 20" wheels I recently put 22" on but I haven't really driven it other than around town a little bit. In the last 10years I haven't really had any vehicles that had decent fuel mileage the X5d actually makes me smile when I fill it up and it says Close to 600miles until empty not to mention the smile the monster torque puts on my face. I had it tuned by ECUProgram and it really made a difference in the feel of the truck. I have comfort seats(must have) I don't have the active ventilated seats but I wish I did.

But if I find a loaded one with out the sports package but with the multi-contour seats, is that still fun? I'm just making sure the sports package doesnt add something else that I would miss...
Thanks,

Mine doesn't have the sports package, I just bought a used set of 20"OEM wheels and used fender flares. The whole set up might have cost me $1,000
