Oil Level Sensor

Hello All. I have a question regarding the oil level sensor, when they fail are they more prone to showing no or low oil or do they indicate full.

I am pretty sure mine has failed as well. It is reading "Max" and has been for months. Before AND after I added 4 Liters. I have the new one, waiting for oil to arrive and I'll replace it and update. It should go above the Max line when filled to 10 Liters.

Thank you for the reply, hate there is no dipstick in these trucks. Will you be swapping out the oil pressure switch as well.

I was told by SA that BMW did a software upgrade to disable “too much engine oil” warning . BMW told ppl burn engine oil is normal and recommend adding 2 qt when engine oil level is low.
