Loud clicking when rocking the car back and forth
Hey Guys,
I've noticed a noise develop over the past few weeks. Sound kicks in when i apply the brakes a low speed and when turning at low speed. I checked the CV boots and they look brand new. I cannot pinpoint the noise but it sounds like its coming from the drive shaft. Could this be the part that caused the recall. Video where im rocking the car is attached, this is the same noise im hearing when braking. |

Lift both front wheels off the ground and try to turn them by hand back and forth with the car in park. This assuming the noise is from the front. If rear, lift the rear.

The sound, while driving, wound up being the plate under the front axle having 2 loose bolts. Still, we are able to shake the front prop shaft with our hands, is that normal to have play on the front prop shaft.

I just noticed a similar noise coming from the front end the other day every time I would go over an uneven road surface or speed bump...turned out to be bad sway bar links

Hummm don't think there should be as I've never seen play in any other car. Play is not good. There is a recent warranty extension for exploding front shafts. Might want to show the dealer the play before it destroys the bottom of the car

The recent drive shaft extended warranty should cover it. |

I've read here a few people brought the car in an requested the part be changed and were denied. Few months later they were left stranded with a destroyed drivetrain. I'd rather the peace of mind.

If you can show that your driveshaft fails inspection criteria set by the sib, you can get it replaced under the warranty. I got mine replaced by showing photos of leaking grease and exposed needle bearings. Might be worth a shot before spending $600 from your pocket
