New m2 owner 997 carrera s question

Today I test drove a 2008 carrera s and really liked it. I know there are a ton of Porsche guys out there. What is the best year for the 997 and the pros and con's of owning one? I did just buy a m2 and don't get me wrong I love it but I'm thinking the 997 will be the next to add to the roster.

6mt or "auto"? If I recall correctly 2011 was the first year for the PDK

6mt I don't want a pdk or dct of anything. That was the appeal of this vs the 991 the 6mt vs the 7 which I've heard people don't like.

I've read that 2009+ models are nearly devoid of IMS and RMS failures due to the DFI engine.

I'd go for a 2012.5. Last year of the 997 and all the issues are largely resolved.

Any of the 997.2 years.

As above, any of the 997.2 years are good. They look a good bit better than the 997.1. If you are going with a 6MT and do not care about PDK then I would say the answer is 2009/2010.
