Anyone running a Cobb stage2?

I'm running a Cobb on my n55 x5
Just out an ER downpipe on, and I. Stage 2 I'm getting the same boost as stage 1 which is about 9.5.
Cobb said both the maps are the same just stage 2 has DTCs off so no CEL comes on for the downpipe.
Since these off the shelf maps are really for the e9x/e8x platforms, and the e7x has a considerably larger intercooler, I decided today to load up the stag 2+FMIC map.

Guys, holy
18 PSI and loving it.
With my bms intake this thing is howling and the downpipe sounds awesome.
I came from a 335 with jb4 (but I did switch to Cobb for a short while) and I had an FMIC and Downpipes so on Cobb I never tried the non +FMIC maps.
On the n54 with jb4, you got more boost with map 2 which is for downpipes then map 1.......but on Cobb on the x5 n55 it seems to not be the case.
I never tried anything but map 2 aggressive +FMIC on Cobb on my 335 so I do not know the behavior.
I'm just puzzled as why anyone would install a downpipe for stage 2 if the Cobb tune isn't going to give anymore boost.

Yes I know.
I'm prob the only x5 owner with a downpipe, let alone a Cobb on it haha.

I beat a e90 jb4 335 map1 and a f30 328 jb4 map 1 in a pull tonight.

Interested in hearing your ER downpipe...Stock Exhaust?
I have a 2013 X6 and have been thinking about a more aggressive sound without an aftermarket exhaust.

9 to 18psi seems like a huge jump. Interesting.

Check out my Instagram got a quick vides on it @jonny_yahoo
I relocated the valve from the passenger side tip to the midpipe so above 3krpm or wot it's a muffler bypass. But the video is just at stationary so it's closed.
Sine the valve isn't restricting the more aggressive passenger side of the muffler it's a little louder than if the valve was there and closed like on a stock exhaust (but plus downpipe)

just dynod the truck this weekend on an e30map.
did 333hp/524tq.......and the dyno tech left traction control ON and did not have any fans.
the e30 map was only the second revision, so theres alot of work to do.
pretty confident i could get up to the 345hp and 550tq once dialed in right

Bummer this wasn't run in 6th gear with a proper 1:1 gear ratio. But cool numbers to show to friends I guess.

You think you can get a free dyno run from the shop that did it, since they didn't do it right?

that is not correct

This excellent writeup was given by Todd, the President of AWE:

Issues to consider:

No matter what gear set you dyno in, it is ultimately multiplied by the final drive.

Considering that the 996TT final drive is 3.44:1, you would have to have a .29:1 gear set to totally eliminate the gear multiplication issue.

Thus, in essence, the 1:1 ratio becomes a myth when it comes to chassis dyno testing.

However, gear set selection is important nonetheless:

A gear should be selected that allows a long enough pull to gather meaningful data, and produces a big enough load on the engine to produce realistic results. The lower the gear, the less load on the engine. Load is essential to mimic on street/track driving.

Yet, the gear selected should not be so tall that the ending speed is far outpacing the cooling capacity of the dyno test cell.

In reality, there are extremely few chassis dyno test facilities that have even barely sufficient cooling systems, and the far majority of them have cooling systems acceptable for just a 20mph dyno pull. Considering that 4th gear on the 996TT gets you north of 120mph, a subpar fan system will skew data big time.

We have found that we are able to test in 4th gear with reliable data, due to the special fans that we installed. Testing in 5th would create excessive heat and unrealistic data.

Your TQ numbers far exceed Cobb's claims for that map (43% over stock). You're in "better than N63," territory. If for a fact you could achieve 500 ftlbs in a 3.0L engine, that is not a diesel, I'd do it tomorrow. Why by an X5 with a V8 at all?

Something is a miss in the numbers, that are easily to blame on the dyno, or dyno operator. The easiest is gear ratio. There is a way to skew things with the temp probe, or even correction factors.

here is a good example, the 2nd one is my favorite.

(the sound effects are awesome here)

im running an e85 map.
they dont have numbers posted since they do not have an E30 map for N55
look at all the 335 and 135 dyno numbers with N55.
they are actually making a little more power than me
ive seen as high as 340hp/550tq.
that is the exact point of this, why would you buy a 5.0 or a diesel.
my 335 i had was 433hp/493tq, again why buy an m3 when you can make those numbers on a 335....YOU SHOULDNT.

i went to a dyno day, paid $50 and got a free lunch and dyno. not really a big deal
you pay for my dyno ill gladly go dyno in 6th gear for you.
what your sayign is that i also had the dyno tech take his time to change dyno settings specifically for me to make my reading higher.......thats a little obsurd
