Placing the spare tire
Hi folks,
Looking for help to place the spare tire under the cargo hinged cover in the X6. currently, under the hinged cover, the car has a nice storage compartment lined with filt/plastic insert. the insert is attached with plastic pins. I understand that I have to remove this storage insert and the spare tire can fit in its place...the question is, to remove the plastic pins holding the insert, do I just yank them out or is there a way to get them out? Hope those who did it give me some advice. Thx. |

U just need to bolt ur new tire/tray unit thru the carpeting into the hole under it and tighten it down. I think ur talking about the battery cover, that is plastic and u need to remove it to lift up the carpet and install the spare.

Yes. my car cam without a spare, so where the spare goes there is a storage compartment...I guess you can say it is carpeted. So, to put the spare, I need to remove this piece. Do I prey out the pins holding it in place or is there a way or a tool to unscrew them?
