Hello, I've coded my 2014 328d in the past. Since last service, everything was wiped. Now trying to re-code and get this message when trying to 'read coding data' under all CADF files.

Transaktions-Report: Aktion: Codierdaten lesen

FEM_BODY [40] [F099176]

cafd_00000794-007_031_012 Fehler:
File for "cafd_00000794-007_031_012" not found! [C012]

Is there something new I need with whatever they updated?

Thanks in advance.

Hi - another new F31 owner here ready to do some coding mods. A big thanks to all the contributors here - where would we be without you?

Could someone PM the details of where I can get the E SYS software and data?

Thanks,

Paul

HI Shawn,
I having the same issue with errors of DriveTrain and Fuel System. I tried to clear the CEL using EXTERNAL APPLICATION --> Transmitter in Esys. So far no luck.

This happened during the process of me trying to VO code the DME module. Now I can't clear the errors. Can you please help?

Does your DME still have a CAFD file, and if so, what is the name of it?

Well, that's a problem. You need to inject CAFD into DME, and then VO Code DME:

Connect => Read FA (VO) => Activate FA (VO) => Read SVT (VCM) => Left-Click on DME => Click on "Detect CAF for SWE" => Select the CAFD matching your I-Level => Select OK => Right-Click on DME (the ECU itself not the underlying CAFD) => Select CODE.

To determine your I-Level, go to VCM Module => VCM Master Tab => click Read under I-Steps. The I-Step (current) is the one you want to match when you select the CAFD from the "Detect CAF for SWE" options.

Here is where you may have a problem. You cannot run the motor when you VO Code DME, and your battery may not be putting out enough Voltage to enable coding. If Coding fails, you need to put car on charger, or run jumper cables from it to another running car.

Got it working!! and the errors are gone.

Thank you Shawn. Talking about delicate service at 12AM (PST) time, i'm sure its 2AM your time. We won't even get that kind of service on any where else, especially when we're not even paying.

So the lesson of the day is DO NOT CODE THE "DME" MODULE. PERIOD!!!
I was trying to change the FA and VO the car, and it requires VO codes the "DME" module. I learned it the hard way.

Could someone explain the relation between the different versions of esys and psdzdata? My f30 is from 2012, is there a specific reason to keep updating esys and psdzdata? The car doesen't change so older esys should keep working I guess?
