Cold Diesels
How will the 35d handle cold down to 5 degrees fairenheit. I have heared that the fuel system is heated and that the glowplugs should do just fine without a block heater.

Lots of information in the owners manual about cold weather starting of a Diesel engine in a BMW. They are fine in the cold. Keep your battery charged.

Runs fine even at -5F here in Vermont. However, overnight, I prefer to keep it in a garage where the temperature stays above freezing. Just a precaution that I can take as the garage bay is available.
This is my first vehicle that uses DEF, and I have some concern that if I left it out in sub zero weather, the freezing fluid could damage the DEF tank. |

Key thing is to have a charged battery. See my recent experience with a flaky battery here
