Remote start for X6

One thing I miss from other vehicles I have had is the remote start. Just wondering if anyone has put one on and what brand has worked well. Any problems that you have experienced with it? Thanks

Yes. The manual says to drive off as soon as the engine starts.

even then. all the fluids in the car have to get up to temperature at the same time, i think. this morning it was 8 degrees fahrenheit and my car had heating within about 7 minutes. the oil temperature didnt get up to operating temperature until about 25 minutes of driving.

I usually let it sits for about 1 min before taking off, just don't open her up until the oil temperature starts moving

Exactly, so as to the original question, has anyone put a remote start on their x6? I am not looking to start it up and sit for 15 minutes. I would like to start it up a minute or two before leaving or as I start walking down the parking lot to the car.

I talked to my guy that does all the work on my car, electric wise. He said that he only knows of one company who makes it for a car that doesnt have an actual key that turns in the ignition...he says it costs anywhere from $1,200-$1,500...not cost effective I'd say.

OK thanks Sharpie12. Thats what I have been trying to find out. Obviously BMW does not do it for a reason, but I was curious as to what others have done.
