Windshield Wiper Speed

Hello - so I've been out of the BMW ownership for about a decade now and apparently quite a lot has happened with tech in the windshield wiper speed world. Even after reading the manual, I cannot seem to have the wiper at the slowest of slow intermittent settings. It's either on fast, or on super-fast. When I reduce the speed from II to I, it doesn't do anything. The Auto button on the side helps a touch, but nothing more. I just had a Miata where I could adjust for a light drizzle. Model is the 08 x5.

have you tried adjusting the scroll button to the lowest position (on the wiper stalk) when in A mode?

I have. That's where it works normal. Otherwise, yea in normal non-auto mode it seems that I am missing a step in getting the intermittent to work.
