Newbee msport question...need a little help

Hey all, Ive had tons of bmw's but never a x5 and Im thinking about picking up a 35i or a 35d. My question is the msport package. What all is it? I see that the msports look lower suspension wise and also have painted wheel arches and side pieces. Is that it? love the look of the painted trim pieces and wondering if i pick up a non msport if it can be added within reason.

THX!

Do yourself a favor and just get the M Sport right off the bat. Why waste time with a non M Sport and then have to source the parts, get them painted, etc.

It's not that bad. No need to rush this. Just take your time, find the right one and buy it.

Nope. Not during the E70 production run.

They do, just not in the US. In the US, your only options are 35i or 50i.

What's your budget?

I just bought a 2011 X5 M Sport 35i, and the brakes are squealing badly. I need to replace the rotors/pads. Thing is, I can't figure out if the M Sport brakes are larger than the basic 35i Drive X5.

Can anybody shed some light on this for me? I've Googled this and can find no parts table that lists a separate M Sport application for X5 E70, but I think they are larger.

Help! Any parts link would be greatly appreciated. I'll do the work myself but I need to buy the right parts.

Hi Greg,

I just replaced my 13 M-Sport 35i with the ECS performance drilled/slotted rotors and OEM pads, it hooks up great.

I tried Akebono Ceramics and had the worst of luck and pulled them off (very soft pedal). I had also bled the system including ABS/DSC unit about 3 times, so it was the pads.

Here is a photo for ya. As far as I know, the M-Sport use the same stock sized pads/rotors as non m-sport. 50i may be a different ball game? Car stops incredibly well.

Rear Pad Sensor (Passenger Rear): Couldn't find on ECS - But I would replace it.
