New Owner

Hi guys, I have recently acquired my 2011 BMW X5 35i Sport. The car has 30k miles on the clock. It had 3k worth of work done from the local BMW dealer. The dealership I got my car from sells car for a wholesale price and a lot of my close family members bought cars from them a week before I got mine.

The car is in PERFECT shape. No dings/dent or any scratches. No curb rash either or any rock chips. It's like a brand new car It has 'some' swirls but not bad for being 5 1/2 years old. It will get a paint correction this summer and I will condition the leather with swiss vax but the leather still feels perfect. The exterior is black sapphire mettalic matched with black leather and the burl wood trim which has 0 cracks in it. The car was a New Jersey car leased by a lady. And then when her lease was over she took it back to the dealer. And then the dealer certified it and it sat in the lot for a month and then it was sent on auction due to some of the issues it had. Anyways the car is perfect now.

The car is almost a base. Yes, I said base. My 14 year old e39 530i has heated seats and steering wheel and the X5 doesn't have it.... I'm going to miss this option during the winter in Ohio. The car does have the sport package and it makes a huge difference cosmetically. I don't know how the handling effects the car since I have never driven an X5 other then this. I got a really good deal for this car. And the condition this was in, I couldn't pass it. The car has PDC, Nav, Back camera and a 360 camera. That's it.

The car originally came with Bridgestone tires that were dry.... Bargained with the dealer and I paid an extra $1,000 for a full set of Continental all season tires balanced and aligned with unlimited rotation service from his shop. The battery was dead when we came to see the car so the dealer got another battery for us.

Somehow, I still prefer my E39 due to the driving experience. But, that's just me. Here are some pictures.

Looks great! Sport Package is priority over those other items you mention, great find with 30K miles. Had it been a 2012 heated seats were standard, as was the upgraded sound system and LED coronas. But tough to pass that up, real low mileage for a 2011.

And you get points for properly naming it a 35i and not a 3.5i (it's a 3.zero liter I6) like most of the forum

Nice ride! Yeah heated seats are nice here in Ohio but you have a beautiful ride and sounds like you got a good deal. I just picked up my 07 4.8 a few months ago. Already upgraded to the 20" staggered wheels and replaced the halo and fog lights with LED to get rid of the yellow look. I coded out the error codes the lights throw and it looks great. I also added the all black grills to make it more aggressive looking.

Definitely, it makes a vast difference cosmetically. I like it a lot. Exactly for the low mileage and the price I got it for.... I won't complain but I do want to add heated steering wheel in the near future. I'm still learning about the E70. There's not a lot about them out here compared to the E39. And major maintainance I need to do at 50k?

Yes, I've been really spoilt with my e39. The e39 is my favourite bmw so far! Any pictures? I wanted to pick an x5 50i but then I saw mine and couldn't pass it. I plan to do the white leds too. The yellow ones remind me of my e39.

Very clean looking E70, good choice even if those winters in Ohio will be very cold without the heated seat option. Any mod plans for it or just a nice day to day vehicle for you?

I plan on adding the white halo ring bulbs. I'm new in the E70 game and I don't know what to add. But I do plan on making some tasteful mods like heated steering wheel with the tri colore stitching and paddles. I want to do some tasteful mods so when I go for a cruise it would be a nice view

That would be a nice add on to achieve with the paddling shifting by far. If you are looking for tuning options there's MHD, JB3 Stage 1, Cobb, and Dinan for the 35i. I created a thread for the MHD if you are curious since it's the cheapest and out performs those other tuning options for the most part.

Yeah, it's going to make a big difference to me. I don't plan on tuning the car. It's going to be a DD. The E39 is what I'll be playing with. My dad drove the E70 and then he wanted to drive the E39. He started it. Turned the heated seats and steering wheel on and we went on a cruise. My dad had been saying how the E39 is his favorite. Thus, I plan on doing a full M-Tech conversion, Limited Slip diff and a little mods here and there and gift it to him on his birthday.

Oh very nice indeed then, I was originally planning on the E70 as a DD which is still is but the tune helped me enjoy the vehicle more IMO. I had the E90/92s as the play car till I sold them. So either I'm buying another Evo 8/9 or just purchase a R32 GTR or wait till the R33 is legal

I plan on getting a beater E90 soon. The Evo 8/9 can be monsters for some little cash. The r32 is too common. I'd suggest to wait till the R33. As far as the E90 i plan on getting a 328xi

Nice! Yeah you got a great car though. I ended up buying fairly inexpensive LED lights for the fogs and halo's off eBay. Some guys will tell you they are junk from china but honestly they look great and for the price I couldn't pass it up. Most come with resistors so that you don't throw a error on your dash saying you have a bulb out. I avoided the resisters (which can be problimatic) and was able to code the car to turn off the error. If you want any details on what I bought or did just PM me.

Here's mine.

Oh that'll be nice if you get a beater, why the 328xi? Yes the Evo 8/9 can be monsters, my Evo 8 was making roughly close to 600 awhp on pump gas. So knowing the options I'm looking at are almost all too common you're probably right to wait for the R33 instead.

It's cheaper to find and 330is high mileage will eat the wallet. Wow, any pictures? I've been a JDM lover at heart. THe r32 is common but the right owner can make the car sexy.

Oh okay I completely understand, sometimes you don't always have to have the turbocharged vehicle or M series if we are talking strictly bmws.

Attached some pics of my old Evo 8 and mirage converted to an Evo 5

Which one? The sterlinggrau will have a S62 conversion within the next two years. The Cosmo black will be a daily driver with and bbs style 42's will go on this summer. As for the E46 325xi it is also a daily driver.
