Please help with decision

I went and tested the X5 5.0 (want the 8- not interested in 6) and was absolutely impressed with the driving dynamics.
It had the sport package and active steer. I don't know how BMW does it but this heavy car felt light.

I am down to Cayenne S, new fx 35/50 and the X5. In terms of "involvement" if that even applies to these monsters I would go BMW> fx35>Cayenne>fx50s.

So my heart and right brain says get the BMW and my left brain says get the reliable and fun value play -aka fx 35.

I can afford the X5/X6 so it is not the money. It comes down to reliability- how reliable are the Xs (only the 5.0).

Again- I LOVED the driving dynamics of this car and looking your experience with its reliability.

Thank you.

Here is my experience: I've had an E53 2006 4.4i for 16 months and now own an E70 2007 4.8i for almost 4 years. They are great vehicles, especially for me in severe winter conditions. They are thristy however in city driving but on long road trips they can be relatively economical if you cruise well. I've had O2 sensors fail, ignition coil failure, electrical problems, an oil cooler failure and the most recent one was a camshaft sensor failure. Everything was repaired under warranty. The interior is well done and I highly recommend it.

Good luck with your decision.

Yup this is correct. Tons of fun in the x5m. I'm reaching 5k miles now with zero issues.
But to answer your question, my uncle has the 2012 x5 50i and so far he's got zero issues as well. He is also near around 4k miles
Are you leasing or buying?
