Radio preset issue on 2009 x5
Hi I just bought a 09 x5 and it will not keep any presets in memory. I have read some forums on the sat presets not storing and ours does that too, but ours also lost all of the fm presets as well after they were programmed. It does have nav as well. Any input would be great.

Yes it is under warranty and we will take it in. I was most concerned about the fm presets. that seems like it could be a battery issue.

I can say that from my e90, FM preset were saved regardless if it lost battery power or not. It was only wiped when they did a software upgrade that affected the radio.

I have a 2008 M6 with the same problem. after talking to Sirius 3 times with absolutely NO help at all, I contacted BMW. They blamed Sirius. Then I found out Mini Coopers ( up to their 2010 model) have the same problem and lo and behold, they have a tsb to fix the problem. Then I called BMW again and they were able to find a similar tsb. They wanted to charge to fix the problem. I tried the following procedure myself and it was successful. Try it and see if it works for you, I believe it will:
Lock and unlock the car Start the car and turn on Sirius Within 10 seconds of starting the car and initiation of the SAT radio pull fuse number 75 Wait 5 seconds and reinstall the fuse Go to presets and you should be able to store your presets again. |

I tried it and it didn't work. There was no fuse number 75 but there was a 7.5 amp fuse that turned off the Sirius. When I first did it it worked and when I went back out it was the same again. I have an appointment Thursday to take it in. I hope they can figure it out.
