Snowboard Rack?

Guys,

Anyone have any luck with finding a snowboard holder that fits on the BMW OEM cross bars? I just got the OEM cross bars from the dealer (for my 2011 x5 with flush roof rails mpackage). The issue is that my THULE universal snowboard carrier will not fit on the BMW OEM Cross bars because the cross bars are too fat. Anyone have any experience wit this? The snowboard racks from BMW OEM all look like garbage and none hold more than 2 snowboards. The THULE setup i have held 4 snowboards on my old Jeep. I guess i will have to just order a THULE cross bar set up and take back my BMW OEM cross bars?

Any insight would be great!

I use the BMW holder - my wife and I ski and our sons do both so we fit 2 boards on the roof and other stuff in the ski bag. What I hate is all the road crud that gets on the skis and boards on the roof racks. I am looking to buy a box that fits on the cross bars - that way the boards and skis do not get sandblasted.

Hmmm....ok that is an idea that i can live with although i really don't like how the BMW cross bars stick up so much higher than the Thule cross bars i think they end up standing a full inch higher above the roof. I'll look into bigger brackets thanks!

Hey Kenneth,
Do you have any pictures showing the OEM crossbars on your M-sport? I have an M-sport on order and would love to see how they look.
Thanks,
AJ
