Oil weight usage

I've always ran AmsOil 0w/30 in my vehicles. IMO its by far the best oil you can get and with the 0 weight I've actually noticed about a 2mpg increase over 5 weight. I know BMW recommends 5w/30. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with this and if throwing a 0 weight oil in there will actually cause probs. I called my service dept and they couldn't comment on that saying that they only go by what BMW recommends. Mine is an 08 with 60k on it when I purchased it so it didn't qualify for CPO so I don't have to worry about warranty voids. Just making sure I'm not gonna do some damage if I stuck with my go to oil. Thanks all.

As long as it's an LL01 rated oil, you should be fine. Mobile 1 0w40 is LL01 rated if you want to run a 0 weight.

Ok thanks I'll definitely do my research. I've always been much more than satisfied with AmsOils products.
