Is the x5 sav taller than the x5 premium?
Because of the 20 in wheels?
According to the specs on bmwusa it says both are the same at 69.9 inches. Just wondering because salesman keeps telling me x5 SAV is taller |

I don't know specific to the X5, but generally speaking when you're going to a larger diameter wheel you go to a smaller side wall. It usually comes close to evening out. An X5 on 18" wheels shouldn't be 2 inches shorter then one with 20".

It does seem taller, especially in the rear. When I had my X5 with 19", I could see the rubber seal running across the center of the panoramic roof. With my current X5 on 20", I can only see the seals on the side. I'd say it went up at least a good 2"

Agreed. My 12 5.0 is definitely taller than previous 08 4.8. Both had 20s but the older one had sport/active suspension. Not sure if that had anything to do with it.
I took a pic at the dealer of the two side by side while taking delivery and moving over my personals. I'll post if I can find it! |
