Charcoal Filters in X6M???

Just installed a set of K and N air filters in my new 2012 X6M. However, there are no charcoal filter at all. Looks like the factory never installed them. I checked in front of the factory air filter and in back of it. Nothing.

Installed the new K&N. Noticed the throttle response was a little better.

Anybody have the same experience?

my X5 M had 2 charcoal filters so I removed them... no on X6 M????? weird!
