-LOL, I was just going to post that. It's the proportions - like the sweep angle of the rear glass and unnecessarily highly domed hood (pedestrian crash standards that also give newest BMWs "pig nose").

Let's see if the BMW will have better steering feel. Having driven most new BMW models, and reading about the newest Mustang, I remain dubious.

Please people, don't let the number "4" trick you. It is marketing.

The 6-series is a completely different case. It is not a two-door 5-series.
No. The 5,6 and 7 use the same chassis and for the first time the 5 is based off of the 7, which explains why it is so big and heavy and also drives like a boat.

They are "share" the chassis (modifications, 5-series is 5in shorter). It is not the "same" chassis between the F01, F10, F12.

This situations is different. What you are looking at is a 3-series coupe. Don't let the number "4" fool you. This is comparable to the E90/E92.

The Coupe was right in front of me, when i drove to work this morning. Wasn't that long. I think it's the lens of the camera.

The camo does NOTHING. Do BMW really think some other company will steal their design? Get real.
If anything, the camo makes for lots of negative initial impressions.
Leave the freaking camo off the dang car.
At least then you can really judge what people may think, and BMW may then have information and time to alter a few things if need be.
Doing the stupid camo while knowing that pictures are being taken is silly.
I really have no idea what they think they are protecting.

Take the freakin camo off so that people can actually see what they may be ordering in the future.
If BMW or Audi or whoever, think that camo somehow enhances a desire for the car, then they have it completely wrong.
It actually ticks me off.

The new 1 series was camo'd and it didn't turn out any better than what people were expecting and the majority hate the new headlights.
If the camo were off and people could see the design direction, then BMW would have had time to alter some of the details resulting in greater acceptance and better word of mouth advertising.

The E46 M3 steering felt light to you?
I don't see how that's even possible as it's not true.

If you mean that the E46 3 series had light steering, that was only for the initial model, or model and a 1/2. BMW corrected that very early on in the E46 life.
My 2003 E46 325i sport had very nicely weighted steering, and the E46 M3 steering had an even nicer weight. A 1999 or 2000 3 series does have the "light/er" steering feel, which was quickly fixed.

My current 135i steering effort is about the same as my E46, but the E46 steering felt better and more direct with better overall feel for what the front tires were doing.

The new power saving steering assists remove too much feel.
I think it would be better to just use hydraulic assist only under 10-15mph where it can help with parking, after that speed turn power assist off completely to save fuel, as the system doesn't need to run for the majority of the miles during the cars life.

I disagree. When I initially saw the F30 in camo I couldn't tell if I liked it or not. Only when it was uncovered completely could I make an informed decision - and I realized I liked it. The camo swirls do play tricks to your vision and throws your perception off just a bit. I though the proportions were off, but now they look just right to me.

They do this party for marketing reasons to get people talking about it (we all like to speculate about what we don't know - i.e. new iPhone or gadget) but it also does help in preserving their design from other car manufactures. It won't be out until mid 2013, that's a lot of time to steal a design or idea.

The vast majority of people will never look at spy photos. You're applying an insane sample bias (your opinion only) on a process. The lack of a full reveal allows manufacturers to control the way the car is first perceived in the market and is extremely important piece of marketing.

Not only that but car manufactures aren't going to change the design of a car based on forum feedback of a pre-production car. If this actually ticks you off you really need to learn to relax.

Furthermore, is BMW truly done designing the vehicle? There still probably is lots to tweak as far as different lines and curves of the bumpers that they would like to work on and make sure they dont rush a design out there.
