2012 x5 35i - Engine malfunction reduced power

Light goes on only when going on the highway (speed > 60 mph). But does not feel any reduced power. What might be the possible causes?

Yeah it's a common problem.

My experience I had this happen about 4 to 5 times in a 2 week time frame. I changed the spark plugs and never again.

If you search on the forum you will see that there is thread dedicated to this. A lot of people report that it's due to a vacuum line. Mine was due to the spark plugs.

Good luck!

For me it was a vacuum leak, only accelerating to highway speeds would it appear.

Replaced the vacuum lines never happened again.

Like what you said dealer was telling me it was the valvetronic and everything else under the sun, the tip off was finding the broken line dangling around. It was so brittle from the under hood heat it just let loose, so I replaced them all, cheap and easy. Problem resolved.

Dealer called and said the fault code was 002C57. They are going to upgrade the software on the car and see if it helps. I will post if any new information is available.
