2012 X5 50i Msport upgraded rims/tires suspension

Hi all. Just wanted to share an upgrade we did on a new arrival. A 2012 X5 50i Msport had the boring winter 19's and it just screamed for a make over. Heres a few "befores"....

And AFTER, H&R 1.2 spring kit, Staggered 22' Niche Targas 22x9s w/25mm offset on 265/35/22s in the front and 22x10.5 with 20mm offset on 295/30/22s in the rear. Looks pretty nice if we do say so ourselves.

Nice! The stock rims had to go for sure.

Huge improvement! Really like that wheel style on the X5.

Question though - why so narrow on the wheels? Both front and back narrower than stock OEM 20's, a full inch in front (vs. OEM 20's). I would figure w/ aftermarket you'd go wider than stock

Great job! How is the ride quality on the new springs. I'm debating on 22"s or 20"s , looks nice!

The wheels have a different offset (20 to 25mm) than stock, bringing them out more, allowing an aesthetically nice fit with the fender flare edges, but ... handling may be adversely affected because the inside edges of the wheels are further apart. This may be especially noticeable if you have Adaptive Drive on the vehicle ...

Thanks everyone. I did want to go with wider wheels, 10.5 & 12s but unfortunately, this was the widest available with the Targas. The ride is not bad at all, I expected it to be rougher. I did choose the 1.2 vs the 2.0 drop because of some of the posts i read on the 2.0 drop being a rough ride. And also given the fact that with the V8, you actually get a lower drop than claimed because they are rated I believe for the 6 cylinders. So the 1.2 gives you about a 1.5-1.7 drop and the 2.0 drop gives you the respective additional drop. I love the look and get huge attention with them. I am very pleased so far. And yes, i may have to throw the stocks back on if we do get another snow spell. But its been pretty mild so far!

how do you know if it has adaptive drive? I really havent noticed any adverse affect on handling at all. Except obviously if youre going down a bumpy road, you get the "lowered" hop a little bit. But again, its not that bad as one would expect after going with such a set up you have to except a little bit of a difference.

Im actually missing it a little bit, its at the dealer getting the dreaded N63 CCP done. Although they did give me a really nice '16 x5 35i Msport as a loaner. I am really liking the new interior. Still IF'y on the exterior design. AND THANK GOD they finally located the lock switches where they belong,......ON THE DOORS!!!!!

Truck looks great man, love the stance and the wheels...

I do have to admit though, I like the center lock button, its one of those classic BMW things that should NEVER change... I do like the new F15 X5, I had one as a loaner too...

Anyway, just be glad you're getting the N63 CCP done.. Us ///M owners don't get any assistance... And I've already had to do most of the CCP work... Its cost me a fortune too!!!
