I'm wondering who has less issues, forget about economy wise. Actually here in Florida diesel is cheaper than premium gas right now. I'm trading in my 50i for one of them or get back to 3 series f30, but haven't decide it yet.

Can't say I'm surprised. The 50i is a nightmare to own and IMHO not worth the hassle to have some extra power. yoandry had his share of problems that I think spoiled the ownership.

Ive inquired with a few dealership and Ive gotten most of them down between 34-35k and with CPO. Honestly, theset things are still selling like hotcakes. The three that I was chasing after was sold in a matter of a week from me inquiring about them.

Im not really in a rush but in the northeast, the vehincle availabilities are pretty limited and a lot of them are pretty much base options.

Another thought - the general non-enthusiast public likely represent the majority of the 35i owners. These folks are not spending their days on this forum They bring their cars in to the dealer for pretty much everything, and you won't see that mentioned here by them.

I bet there are a disproportionately higher % of diesel and v8 owners on this forum.

Hasn't been a nightmare for me - been a great vehicle.

yoandry also didn't get a PPI done - that's where the problems began IMO. In looking at the 2 issues that popped up, I don't know that those are 50i specific. Transfer case….and the other sounds like poor work by the shop/mechanic?

I agree with you 110% I got screw myself on not doing a correct PPI on the truck. I was like a little kid with a new toy and I just want it so bad, so I'm paying for that now as I could lose the 11k I put down. I haven't decide yet if it will be worth just to repair it, trade it or sell it. I do really like the truck as it is fully load it with all packages and really nice color combination. But something is on my mind for the repair costs and warranty won't cover this and that.

My diesel was ok until it got over 100,000km (60,000miles) then it had CELs a couple times per month. I would get them reset and hope they didn't come back. Finally I got tired of it/worried something big was going to go wrong so I got rid of it. Electronics/emissions seem to be the problem and my waste gates would occasionally stick closed and I would over boost and it would go into limp mode until I shut it off and re-started it. I also drove it pretty hard lots of WOT if I didn't do that it wouldn't over boost...
