I'm using a 9500ix that I've had for a few years now and works great. It pays to know what law enforcement uses in your state and buy accordingly.
My next detector will probably be a Singer VIP. Last edited by technologiq; 11-09-2015 at 05:46 PM.. |

The up and coming remote mount radenso HD+ also looks very promising, hope ALP can come out with the graphics display soon as well, which would make integrating ALP and a radar module a lot more appealing to me Last edited by theaudir8fan; 11-09-2015 at 06:48 PM.. |

No I have not seen your install. Can't seem to find your pics. They don't show up.

the lens is right against the back of the grill, so it's not that recessed. I haven't had many cases of extremely off axis shots, but in all of my real life encounters ALP has saved me every time. the rear is ran via the usual cable route in the door seals, and than up the rear D pillar into the tailgate. yes i had to drill holes for the rear sensors

I have the V1 radar detector and so far since I've had it I only had 1 encounter where it picked up on a New York State Trooper shooting radar (K Band )at me...it notified me a good 2 miles ahead of where he was hiding.
I have a question for those of you with more knowledge with radar and laser detectors/jammers...every so often when driving on the highway only, the V1 goes crazy for 2-3 seconds then stops...would someone ahead, behind or traveling in the opposite direction of me with laser jammers installed in their car make my radar detector go crazy for that brief couple of seconds? |

Proclip, they sell them as 2 piece units. Choose a vehicle specific mount and then the phone holder.

I haven't personally seen a case where a laser jammers causes any issues with a detector as most of the time the laser jammers aren't firing their laser diodes unless it sense incoming laser. If I were to guess what you are encountering is most likely falsing issues, either against some blind spot monitoring systems or radar/laser guided cruise controls. |

I see this too where the V1 goes crazy. I think it's doing a reboot -- all lights come on. I feel that it happens when then there is laser but maybe it is laser jammers causing it. I contacted V1 support on this but they had no idea. |

I always get the same false alerts when i'm near a shopping mall. I'm thinking that the V1 goes crazy for a few seconds (only on the highway) when someone with laser jammers is traveling on the opposite side of the highway then after 2-3 seconds the V1 stops and goes silent |
