My production # on bmwusa is the wrong car??
Anyone ever track there cars production on bmwusa.com? When I add my production number it comes up as a 2012 X5 3.5. Anyone see this before?

My production number doesn't work, I forget what it says but I called BMW and the person I spoke with was able to track it. I'd fault it to either the bmw website or you have the wrong number

Ya that happens, when I first starting tracking my space gray X6 it showed up as a black 335. It seems to take a bit before it gets updated. BMW is not in modern times when it comes to web interfaces and customers.

Ditto ditto ditto. I ordered a 2012 X6 5.0 on March 3. Dealer took his week 14 allocation of a 3.5 x6 and specified it to my order. Did it together on line at his desk. BMW AG accepted the order and coded it 111 as of March 5 where it remains! (scheduled for production with nonproduction date! ) If I hear that recording one more time when I call I will reach in choke someone! Just kidding.
I tried to track my production number on mybmw.com website and it says "only new vehicle production numbers can be added". Dahhhhhh nonkidding. I called customer service and got a very nice person to tell me that basically the web site sucks. Even when it works ( my last new car build) it's about 3 weeks behind. The web site said my vehicle was built and in inspection....and I was driving it! Let's just be glad BMW pours resources into new car designs and build and not IT resources. - That's my story and I'm sticking to it. |

Yes I thought this was the case. I remember my last build doing the same thing. The site is defiantly behind as well. I remember getting the car and bmwusa still saying in production. Lol.

I don't know considering how the idrive lags in turning on rear camera, etc maybe engineering borrowed some IT guys. BMW is getting blown away by the electronics that are showing up on other cars , even American ones are starting get out ahead of them. I love the way my car drives but that doesn't mean BMW should ignore electronics and UI they are part of everyday life now.

The only problem I had when tracking my X6 was that the site wouldn't update quick enough, had to wait about 2 weeks before anything showed up, but after that i was able to track it until it got to the dealer! =0)
