Rear Trunk Badge

I went through an automated carwash and unfortunately my trunk BMW emblem came off. It was only a thin piece of aluminum with the logo on it. It appears that it was only held on by some old adhesive. The rest of the mount is still there.

Has this happened to anyone else before? If so, what did you do to fix it?

I put some 3m trim adhesive for now but I want to know how to take off the entire badge and replace it with a new one.

I found a video.

But I will still like to know if this happens to a lot of people.

Common. Happened to our E70 around 160k miles. New one has been fine for 12k miles so far.

Not the OP, but I got mine from getbmwparts.com. I ordered that, and about $400 worth of stuff when I got my X5M. Great prices and availability.
