But the maintenance plan expires when the warranty expires, and the bulletin says vehicles out of warranty are covered?

The second bulletin started in January. A few of the components being replaced are emissions which would be covered for 10 years or 100,000 miles. BMW knows there was an issue with various components and they are replacing them. BMW has recently changed the maintenance schedules and they are calling for battery replacements. Why are you arguing when BMW has already stated that the battery isn't covered unless you are under maintenance? Don't like it, talk to BMW.

I'm not arguing, I'm just trying to clarify. I already said my vehicle wasn't impacted since it's still under warranty, but that's not the case for everybody here. We're all trying to help each other out here.

UPDATE

Just picked up my car from the recall it took 2.5 weeks to get back. They did everything on the recall besides the timing chain. All 8 injectors were replaced 2 months ago so they didn't do that either. But everything else in the recall was done. Below I will post pics of my service invoice. Any questions let me know.

That's sounds about right - everything but the timing chain.

I dropped mine off at BMW Seattle today. I asked my SA how the inspections have been going, time in the shop, etc. I was told -

* They've done just 1 timing chain in all the vehicles they've looked at
* They've replaced at least 1 part (in most cases many parts) on every vehicle they've had in. Not one vehicle got a clean bill of health, so she said to me 'yours will have something done to it!'
* They have vehicles parked on site for 2 weeks now, still waiting for parts

Got an X1 for the next few weeks. I've had one before and liked it better than the 328i.

I picked up mine on Saturday and it received everything but the timing belt. The car feels just as strong as it did before with my tune. Now I can't wait to put my tune back on. Going from index 8 to the new injectors made a huge difference.

Scheduled service at BMW of San Antonio TX for my 2011 X6 50i with 80k+ miles. Called in and let them know I wanted to set up the Bulletin B001314 service, they told me the soonest I could drop it off would be February 23rd. We’ll see what they tell me when that day comes lol hopefully good news and won’t have a hard time with them doing the service.

Called Northwest BMW(Owings Mills) and here's the BS they told me"The campaign is applied to your vehicle but is only performed on a complaint basis only. Example: check engine light, drive train malfunction ect.At that time, a 6 point inspection is performed and we would be in touch with BMW.If the complaint/ repair falls in the guidelines for the campaign and approved by BMW we would then perform the campaign." I told them that I am very dissapointed that is the way they treat recall and bmw customers and told them I would probably have to use another BMW dealer

What a load to BS! Time to find a different dealer. And I'd report that to BMW NA. I don't recall anybody else here being turned away, regardless of what state we're in and what dealer we're using.

Called BMW Bellevue for my 2011 X5 50i M Sport. Going in next week (1 week wait) to do preliminary inspection and also replace drive shaft for that recall. Not exactly sure if they will just inspect the drive shaft, or just replace it. With all of the horror stories about the damage these things cause, they should be replacing.

They will then order parts and I will set up another appointment 2-3 weeks out when the parts come in. First appointment will be 1-2 days and they are setting up a loaner. No idea what that is yet.

Seemed easy to work with....so far. I am hoping I get all new injectors and a new drive shaft at the minimum.

2 weeks in...just received an email that they are still waiting on parts. Mine only needed three things on the list as well. At least I have a 5 series to play with in the meantime.

Here's what they later said and I scheduled myself for the 26thThis is not a recall, this is a care package that BMW has us scheduling based on parts availability. If a car comes in with a drive abilty concern that can be resolved via the care package we will address at that time. It can be very involved. It is not safety related.I can schedule you but we will have your vehicle for an average of two weeks while you are in a loaner car.The next appointment for this care package would be in two weeks. If you would like to make an appointment please call to schedule."

New X5…very nice!

I'd just spoke to my SA and they're replacing pretty much everything on the list with the exception of the timing chain. She said parts are now 3-4 weeks out so I'm heading in tomorrow to get my vehicle back until they arrive. This stripper X1 X-line isn't doing it for me.

I got everything replaced except for the timing chain. All 8 injectors, lines, vacuum pump, etc. Took nearly 3 weeks.

I was also told the drive shaft campaign is no longer being performed? True?

That isn't what I was told, but I will know more after next Wednesday. I didn't even mention the drive shaft issue, they brought it up when I inquired. I do like they are doing a quick 1 day check, ordering parts, and then I will bring it back for the work needed. Hoopefully that will cut down the shop time.

Dropped mine off last Saturday and when I did they showed me a memo stating that they were to not take anymore due to lack of parts. My issue with this is I made the appointment before the memo came out but was never notified that they could not do the campaign. My truck has an on going issue of a rough idle, misfire throwing the engine malfunction. Excessive battery drain. They said they would treat it as regular warranty issue but they would not do the N63 campaign. Now they have replaced an injector but are still having idle issues and can't figure it out. My X has been in the shop almost 20 days for the same issue over the last 2 months. This is on top of all the injectors being replaced 14k miles ago. What is the process to talk to someone at BMW USA?

Dropped my car off at Bellevue BMW yesterday morning and they called me by 4pm to tell me my car was ready. They checked the drive shaft (was ok) and told me they were replacing pretty much everything....injectors, MAF's, vacuum, etc. Timing chain was fine. They said probably 2-3 weeks to order the parts and then I will come back in.

I had a choice of a 3 series or a 428i with M Sport package. I took the 428i and really enjoyed it. I could see that in a convertible with the 435i and some nicer wheels in my future as a play car. Love the new interiors.

So far, it has been a pleasant experience. Happy to get everything replaced and Bellevue BMW has been great to work with. Now off to go drop off the loaner.

So I'm just curious, is there any easy way to verify the injectors were actually changed out? I noticed the ECU wasn't reset after all 8 of the injectors were replaced, which I thought was odd.

Dropped mine off at BMW of San Antonio yesterday; they told me they would check everything out and order the parts needed, they also are going to look at the drive shaft issues as well. Looking at 4-5 weeks to get mine back, they gave me an X1 28i :/
