Potential New x6 owner

Hi guys

1st off, I would like to thank all you in advance for answering my questions

I currently own a F30 328 xdrive. I would like to trade in my 328 for 2012 xDrive35i

My questions are

Is there any LCI changes before the 2012 or after 2012?
I notice that the corona rings "angel eyes" are halogen, is the entire headlight halogen projector or just the "angel eyes"
Is there any "known issues" that I need to be aware of for this particular year?

Thanks

Max

Max, to answer your questions.

The 'official' LCI was for the 2013 model, and it was an extremely light LCI. Some new wheel designs showed up, LED headlights became an option, and rear taillights were slightly tweaked. Nothing that was a show-stopper.

Prior to that, 2010 got the new CiC NAV/iDrive system, which was a huge improvement (IMHO) from the CCC system. In 2011 the new engines were offered, particularly the 3.5 N55 which received better fuel economy and the new 8 speed transmission.

X6 production for the 2012 MY started early, 2011 production was very short for some reason. Regardless, you'll see a lot of 2012's out there with 2011 in service dates (ie the date the vehicle was sold to the customer).

So if it were me, I'd look at 2011+ and above.

Only angel eye is halogen. You can upgrade it with Lux v5 LED bulbs, about $200. Or you can go crazy and retrofit LED healights, which can be found for about $1800 for the pair on eBay.

No real issues that I'm aware of, the chassis has been out since 2008 and is basically an X5, so you are getting a few years worth of fixes/improvements. I like the X6, it's a nice vehicle. The back window is a bit tough to see out of, but that is part of the style.

It's a 2012, he's not building a new one to order his options.
