Poor MPG

Hi all -- just bought both a 335d and a X5 35d.

The X5 is getting very poor MPG -- 14.5mpg in mixed driving, maybe 60% city. Only on 2nd tank. Replaced the air filter and oil. Just spent a week at the dealer getting new NoX sensors and fuel filter.

Any thoughts?

Also -- the average mpg counter on both vehicles is hopelessly off -- i reset it at each fill-up but it is way higher than the MPG I am actually getting.

BTW -- 335d is getting 30 mpg.

Right? At this rate will only get 200 miles per tank.

Need to check air pressure in tires.

It's likely your thermostat. Do a search on this forum and you'll get plenty of results. Common problem.

Ok. I know I can check that using my Bluetooth OBDII. What is the correct range, and easy to replace?

I will search as well.
