from 335 to X6.

I am getting to the point of letting go of my stage 3++ 335i and i am considering a X6 3.5. I drove it and it feels good and i know i can move my proceed over. I am just worried about going from a full coilovers, sway bars, LSD, and great handling and getting a X6. Am i crazy? What are your thoughts?

My friends owns the 5.0 version and that thing is a beast. So damn fast and the handling for an SAV is excellent. Way more comfortable of a ride than 3 series will ever be. Think 400 horses and no need to slow down for potholes.

I'm sure 3.5 is also plenty fast, especially with a tune. I say go for it. Not to mention that interior is a major step up from e90s.

I was thinking on moving the proceed over, putting exhaust and running the vishnu meth. I think it may be ok. I drove a stock one and it was not to shabby. I just dont see spending an extra $12K on the V8.

On a side note, I can also get a CTS-V coupe. X6 or CTS-V. Im really struggling to choose one.

I just ordered my x6m this weekend, and trading in my 335i. We are expecting our second child early next year so I "needed" a larger vehicle to carry 2 child seats (yeah, right). Prior to ordering, I drove the 5.0 with sport package and it is very nice! With tune, you will be on par with m version. The sport package will be closer to your set up on the tuned 335 than stock, so spring for that if you can.
Agree that the CTS-V is a very nice option but my future stroller hauling days will not allow that. I will beat everyone to the PTA meeting though.

See if i could afford the X6M i wouldnt even think about it. But i have to get a 3.5. I am however getting it with all the options and i know i can move my meth and proceed over so that would put me around the 400whp mark. Still shy of the 550hp the Mx6 has

I went from e46 M3 to X40d and whilst the cars cannot really be compared, I have no regrets so far. The X6 has been able to get me to work in the very bad snow we have at the moment where the M3 wouldn't even have got out of the driveway! I haven't even seen an X6M in the metal where I live, but would love a drive of one.

You are going to love the M it is fantastic. Worth every penny over the other X5s even though the X5 is great, the M is a whole different vehicle. I traded my 09 M3 for it and I don't miss it a bit.....the M is that good.....have fun......Steve

@needspeed,
Very excited to hear that! Especially since you came from an M3 and to notice that much difference!

You really should try and spring for the 50i version, even if used, and add the Dinan tune for $2600 and it will bring you to 500HP and 575lbs or torque and probably be as fast, if not faster. I just recently added the Dinan tune to my 50i and it is a beast!!!

I went from a E60 M5 to the X6. After driving the M5 in Germany, I couldn't justify bringing it to the States. So I picked up a X6 which was a perfect replacement. Awesome handling, looks, comfort, and power. I have absolutely no regrets.
