OK, update! My vehicle (#2) went into production today! I think they don't want me in the loaner until October

Good info on the ED by the way guys. If I need a runaround 3 series that may be the way to go!

When is your car scheduled to be complete, mine is the 7th. A few days ago it was the 9th, seems like they are working ahead of schedule.

Estimated completion is August 14th, so it should be done by the 15th arrive at dealers by the 30th at the latest, if the clockwork mechanism works correctly.

I don't want to be a party pooper.. but did you guy get that information from the 1-800 number? That was not very accurate for me. Mine was supposed to be done June 12... I waited an additional 42 days. (You could call it bad luck).

If the answer is yes, I suggest you select option to talk to someone and get them to tell you the true status. I hope your wait is short!!!

Mac, what does the mfg date show on your car? Should be on the driver's side door jam. Curious what month it shows.

My personal opinion is that your X6 is so stunning, they put it on display for a month

Actually talked to a real (I Hope) person who told me the 14th. Mind you I talked to a real person the last time and the delivery changed by 2 weeks after I talked with them! Go figure! I need to call back on Monday to gte the VIN so BMW NA can arrange my credits to the dealer.

I guess it sucks that the car isn’t being built in Germany but what can you do!
Sneaking suspicion our cars will be on the same transporter!! Brad's was on the same as my first order but he had to wait until Thursday to pick it up due to travel. BTW they have a black on black X6M that is in the showroom that got delivered Monday as well.

If you are already in the paint shop, based on my timeline you could be as short as a week away. Don't use Mac as a reference point. They secretly made his 7 times and sold the first 6 to China. Then I called Dominos in South Carolina and sent 100 pizzas with a note to park his for an extra month just to see if he could get the dealer to throw in the $100 rubber floor mats based on the wait.

I just called the 1800 number and they told me my car is scheduled to be completed by August 7, 2012. The weight for the production status was longer than the production being built! WTF? Anyway, I agree that they might save gas and ship them all at once. Maybe we'll see each other at Schomps! I can't wait for mine! First thing I'll do is driving it to 16th street mall!

Smile. Dudes... let me know when your cars arrive. I will then try to understand what the heck took so long with mine (smile). Especially since giants84 and I are using the same dealership!!!

Sadly I asked for nothing when the car came through..

I forgot to check last night. Baby Shower was a success! I'll check the door jam when I get home tonight.

That was their only X6 w/o Sports package so they wanted to admire the rims.. It looks like it was manufactured in June... Very strange that I picked at the end of July. Any possible explanations?

Hey Mac,

I bet your X6 was held up due to the power steering gear recall. Based on the info I received last month, BMW was awaiting confirmation from the manufacturer of the power steering gear that a snap ring was defective. BMW knew about the issue in June, however it took them until July to send out a formal recall notice. Your X6 was likely held up until BMW received confirmation. Either the ring was replaced on your X6 or it was confirmed that the part in your car was okay, hence the delay in your vehicle getting shipped to dealer. Have you received a recall letter? I bet the answer is no!

I did not received said letter. I think you are right. That was my initial thought, but My CA told me the hold up was only 3 days... due to the Steering. Maybe it was more like three weeks (smile). I like that hypothesis better than Brad's pizza theory (!)

Car is in stage 153, being assembled and the completion date is still today. Hope it gets done today, from what I hear stage 153 is a day process usually so the date sounds right.
