Retrofit heated seats E70 and headunit

Hi folks,

New to the group having just bought a 3.0 E70 X5 2012 model. Lots of great threads here and plans to use some of the information to do my transfer case and diff oil changes.

In addition I'm planning a couple of upgrades to the car.

Can anyone tell me if the vehicle seats have the heated elements within as standard? My vehicle does seem to have heated seats. Surely not as easy an upgrade as changing the climate control for a unit with the heated seat buttons? I've read a few threads but no real clarity.

Secondly, I'm going to update the idrive display likely to an Xtrons vehicle specific unit that retian LS use of the idrive wheel. Has anyone done likewise or is there an alternative unit anyone would recommend?
