Do all downpipes make this noise?

I found this video online and im just curious whether that whistle is caused because of the downpipes or because its a X6M? I have never heard any turbo whistle in my X6, and it seems like that may get annoying after a while.

Heres the vid

Ok since it's been days and no one has replied to your thread....

Turn in your man card!

These testosterone fueled beasts have a turbo whistle - quite normal for any turbocharged vehicle.

I actually love the howling whistle!!

Much more audible when catless...I love it.

I know what turbo whistle is, but on that particular X6 it is much more pronounced. I was just curious whether the downpipes just amplify the whistle.

Catless = More noise

As soon as I went catless my neighbors thought a jet was lurking in the neighborhood !

Old thread but good find. I was in search for youtube vids of catless DPs with stock exhaust. Sounds good to me!
