How bad it is? Are you sorry you had to go for the OEM hitch? I am in the same boat, parts are already at the dealer, but I am scared to go in since I am pretty sure to have the first 2011 X5 they will do the install on.

Mine was done prior to delivery, no issue here. Looks good, very nicely tucked away. I did an aftermarket hitch on my old MDX, and hated the way it sat below the bumper. Scraped on everything. FWIW I never tow with these cars, I just use them for hitch-mounted storage and bike racks. My dealer did it for $900 prior to deliver.

They tried to fix it but I wasn't happy so they are ordering me a new bumper. Also scratched up the extended fender flares so those are on order.

I'm considering do an aftermarket hitch. Can you post pictures of your OEM hitch. Thanks.

Here they are! This is for the ///M, I'm not sure if it's the same one for the rest of the trim models....

Did the hitch on your ///M require any cutting of the lower valence/panel? If so did the "kit" include and trim for the "cut-out?
