2011 X5 M Brake Squeal
The dealer we bought the vehicle from has just phoned and booked us for an appointment to change the front brake pads and sensor under warranty, BMW Canada at least has acknowleded a problem and is fixing them, whether this is a blanket recall or an internal memo to fix as the customer complains I dont know. Im very happy, at least my neighbors ear drums will be saved as my wife backs down the driveway.

took it in to the dealer and was told "it's normal for performance brake to squeal". Couldn't accept the dealer's answer so I bought Noise Free from Bavarian Auto and applied it to all 8 brake pads. It's been a month now and squeal has not come back.

We live in the Barrie, Ontario area the dealer is in Newmarket ( Open Road ), we had it in back early Dec 2010 and were told that it is normal although they were polite about basically too bad. I also researched sprays and changing pads etc. I was waiting to see if it was a cold weather related problem and not rush into changing things till spring. We will see how the new brake pads and sensors work. I hope to take it in next week.
