Do you regret not getting the 20's?
I opted out of the 20's to get a softer ride.
the stock 19's are 255/40 I believe the 20's are 275/35 front and 315/30 in the rear. Seems like it will be a much harsh ride going with the 20's. I had 18's on my old E92 and then went with the 17's on my current E92 and love the ride. Am I just crazy? Car is currently on the assembly line so any opinion would help.

I had 18s on my E92
20s on X6 ride softer than 18s on E90/92 You'll love the look and comfort of 20s, plus they handle great |

20s for sure, just for the difference in handling between 255 all around and 275/315, it is huuuuuge! The ride is fine on 20s, especially if you have adaptive ride.

Without adaptive ride it is not so smooth, but looks a lot better and it handles corners better.

Had 20's on the last X6, even with Adaptive drive the ride was pretty harsh at times. Went with 19's on the new X6 and the ride is a lot smoother, plus did not get the adaptive drive on this one. Cant go around corners at 60 any more just 55.

Thank you for the feedback fellas, I am too late in production to change the order anyways. 255's all around should still hug the road well enough =)

While I realize it is too late, I see you are in NY. I don't think you will "regret" getting the 19s when you hit a pothole. Alas, the 20s do look good. Even though I don't really like the look of the style 336 wheels, a friend of mine has my exact same X6 but with running boards and 20s and um, well I hate to admit it, it looks a lot better. I still don't regret the running boards (my 5' 3" wife sure does however), but sometimes I think the X6 would have a lot more pop with the 20s". And then I hit that next pothole and I'm back to being grateful for the 19s
PS - it hugs the road just fine with the 19s

I have 18s on right now, they kind of suck. The ride feels sloppy and not well planted at times. I'm excited to put on the 21s I bought.

I have 19s on my 35i. I wanted 20s, but I hate the 20" option on the 35i (214 bottle openers). I would love to switch to 20s, but not enough to lay out another $4k or get reps. Next time I'll probably go for the stupid 20s when I build the car. I might upgrade to the 50i just so that I can get wheels that I like. I like the 50i, but with my driving habits, I only get 16mpg in my 35i. I'll get what, 10-12mpg in a 50i?? That'll suck, but I won't have wheel envy! |
