Summer vacation activities for kids?

Okay. My kid's school is over. We already went to a trip already.
My aunt from Los Angeles is visiting us for a week next week. My kid is already registered for summer session held by city program (not school dist) for month of July. I will extend it to August, if she likes it.

We are also trying to teach her golf, so that she can enroll into golf class.

What have you guys/gals lined up for your kids for summer break?
Let's share some ideas.

Swimming, more biology lessons, books, trees to climb, biking, rollers skating, they have their tiny garden to take care of, I'm taking the boys to a fossil place up in Canada to learn more about dinosaurs and to a volcano to teach them about our planet.

Nothing major, just everyday stuff.

Wow. that is a lot of stuff.
We won't have swimming lesson held by instructor, but my wife is going to do that part of lesson.

Haha, I take them to Marymoor park daily. Dogs and kids play in the river for hours, I read bimmerpost while standing in the water. Only one phone lost this summer by now!

I try to keep them active and outside and not to interfere with their imagination. My kids are too young to need more, and this makes them both cheap and easy.

+1
That is the idea. I only spent $30 on kid's golf equipment, and we can play/practice 3+ hrs at a chipping putting area. Best $30 spent for my kid.

However, reality is hitting me real hard. It is my goal to get her the athletic scholarship to school, but some of these kids on YouTubes are really good.

(Currently watching YouTube kid's golf footage with my kid)

I'm euro, so I don't mix sports and education. Being a geek gets them anything but they haven't realized to demand so much yet.

I'm a truly weird parent. I just watched my three year old jumping from 3 meter highs to the ground and went like umpfh, and walked on. The kid is some sort of wonderkid of climbing and jumping and he does stuff like that all the time. Its his hobby, he by his latest career plan is going to be an astronaut space woman. Before this, he decided and this is a direct quote translated: "mom I'm going to marry my English tutor. I know what girls like. They like red, long hair and cute animals." For six months he didn't let me cut his hair, only wore red, even if only a dress was an option and wanted to be called Pupu, a bunny in Finnish.

I might have to tell him he's a boy one day, not just yet.

I've spent three days writing up our last camping trip. I had my sister-in-law fucking up the whole thing and i can say with confidence that was the last extended family trip we are ever making.

My kids love camping. I have the skills to keep them safe and I love being outdoors. I think your tip is the best.

You married a geek?

If so, lets go to the same resort. Our spouses can talk tech while we talk cars.

Sex, who can remember what that is...

Oh, google

Speaking of google, I remember a thread from about 5mo ago. You were saying that you refuse to google the word "leche." (If you remember that).

Haha, sounds like me.

I rely heavily on my memory. I'm so dyslexic I should not be able to read at all according to tests. I see words as forms, and I can never tell the difference between so many words, ones, once, twice, twin, they all look the same to me.

Funny examples.

E92 M3. It took me months to get it right. E93 easier, and E90 nobody has, so no need to learn.

I can't see number letter combinations at all. C63 is a nightmare to me.

I rely on my muscle memory while writing, and I rely on my memory to get the facts right. Word by word I can quote lectures from the kindergarten to university, but I can not do none of this, if I don't remember how my fingers need to move to make certain patterns.

English is my fourth language, or third. That I can't (leave out the apostrophe and I'm out) remember ever. Short memory which is the googling type of learning makes me weaker. My way has made me beat all odds.

It is weird, but it is working for me.

4th lang! you are smart.
Eng is my 2nd, and espana is my 3rd.

I don't have a dyslexia, but my grammar is getting worse and worse. I am starting to write like talking conversation. I would say, eng expository writing is getting really bad, because I speak the eng the most.

You're not alone in that. I can't believe how bad my grammar is these days and my vocabulary is a joke in this language.

I did this summer camp for YEARS. Absolutely loved it! They have two, one for girls and one for boys. It's in NC. Every year my Mom put me on a plane and shipped me out there for 2 months. It's for "older boys and girls." I remember I was 10 or 11 when I started going. It's a little pricey, but if you have the funds then I highly suggest it for your children when they are older.

http://www.kahdalea.com/

You have classes everyday. You pick your classes when you enroll. Classes are like arts, riflery, archery, canoeing, swimming, horseback riding, hiking, rock climbing, religion, and much much more. It teaches you lots of social skills from a young age. You sleep in cabins on bunk beds with no a/c or heat. Take showers outside in stalls. Indoor plumbing thank god. No phones, no internet.

NEF is a grammar police on this forum. No wonder you had to put his ego down on "Ban the person above you" thread.
