Thoughts and prayers go out to Bianchi and his family at this moment. This is 2 Marrusia drivers that wind up in bad accidents. De Villota when she was a test driver with the freak accident and now Jules. God speed.

On a lighter note, I really liked how Massa bombed Alonso's interview.

Unhappy

All thoughts and prayers are with Jules.

What a horrific accident. It looks like the car went underneath the recovery vehicle, shearing off the entire air box.

I find it eerie that an accident like this would happen to another Marruisa driver again. I hope Maria is not haunting the Marrusia team. May her spirits RIP.

I think he did. German radio reported his helmet was cracked in half. ? It doesn't look good - the doctor is cheacking his pupils here in this video. Thoughts and prayers for him and his family.

Didn't get to see the race as I'm working. Too bad about Bianchi hope he's okay. What happened with the 3-4 spots. Shows ricciardo at +10seconds and vettel at +15seconds but vettel taking 3rd.

i think when the race is redflagged the cars are ordered according to the last time they crossed the start-finish line, and not according to their position at the moment of declaring the red flag. i think vettel pitted and lost the position on the final lap, so when the race was stopped that final lap was discarded since he hadn't crossed the start-finish line yet

It's not looking good as some venues are saying he is on Life Support and will possibly need a second operation. In some of the pictures you can see Adrian Sutil helplessly looking on as Bianchi is being attended by the Doctor and track crew.

I just don't understand how he can be traveling that fast under double yellow. Not that it matters now but I'm hoping that we all will be pleasantly surprised and that he can recover because that is a horrific accident.

Good grief. From that angle, it looks like that besides the tire, the first thing to hit that tractor was his head. I'm all for miracles, but I think this is going to unfortunately wind up being the first F1 driver death in over 20 years.

Also, why is the guy still waving the green flag at the time of the accident?

Green flag waving there?

There's no mystery about his head injuries, but I'm surprised that he doesn't have severe neck and spinal injuries from his head being forced downward like that. Or maybe he does and they just haven't said anything about it.

Hmm that may be why FOM is trying to keep the video secret and would explain why he's traveling so fast! A grave mistake by that track marshall

Holy SH*T!!! That's quite an impact. Praying for Jules and his family. I was wondering why they didn't replay the impact on TV and came to the conclusion that it must have been too graphic for TV audiences and I'm sad to say that I was right.

They replayed Greg Moore's crash about a hundred times. Although that one was shown live anyway. Still one of the nastiest wrecks I've ever seen. I wonder if Bianchi's crash shown here was a video from a spectator.

It is amateur video from a spectator. FOM is even blocking it on YouTube

That tractor must weigh 7 or 8 tons and was lifted off the ground by a car weighing less than one ton and made mostly of carbon fiber. Some serious kinetic energy at play there. The fact that Bianchi is even alive is amazing.

I just thought the same thing. I thought the track was on a full course yellow because of the Sutil crash?

It should have been double waved yellows at that corner and a waved green at the post after the corner.
