Looks great!

So about the glove comment, are these real grease magnets? I'm guessing so...

You guys are gonna crack up when I tell you this, but...the best gloves I have found for Alcantara wheels minus using race gloves are rain gloves for golf. Nike makes a good looking pair and because they are made out of cotton. They adhere and work really well with the suede like material.

I even wear mine in the summer and my hands don't got hot. Yes I may look stupid, but provides amazing grip and keeps the wheel looking new and reduces wear.

actually believe it or not, bmw make good driving gloves (and good price too). Not the racetrack style that look mad funny in the car.

I think alcantara is too much for an X5.
The steering will not make the truck faster or better to go around twists but missing the MFL buttons would piss me off.

I assume you will not do track days with your truck?!

Nah. No track days. I been looking for an updated M steering wheel with trim and everything and it was hard to find and also expensive. I got this from Europe at a bargain price compared to the almost 1k asking price in the USA

I've been using those glove since Feb 2010, 4 years still in good shape. The only annoying thing is that I can't use my touch screen phone.

I say ball hard and drive without gloves. Who cares if it wears out? Who are you saving it for? I would have a mental breakdown if I would have to use gloves every single damn time I want to drive my X5.

I like it, good choice. I went with the one with the blue stripe. Don't use gloves either, I just wash my hands before driving if possible and wipe down the wheel one or twice a month.

Water.

Alcantara has official care instructions posted on their site. It's really easy, nothing to be worried about. Now if you are someone that has dirty hands all the time then...

Here are the care instructions:

Hahahaha, your replies are always hilarious! F it, let's just work on some greasy engines, change a few tires, then grab onto that steering wheel and go! Lol

OP, in all seriousness, that steering wheel looks awesome!

Another way to look at it is, now that you have the flat bottom sport wheel use it and if in the future it looks less than stellar send it off to say Dallas custom wheel and get it re wrapped in the perforated leather with the M sport stitching.
